Although the differences are marginal, the thinner body of Roomba 695 will have an easier time when cleaning the crevices under your furniture pieces. Design and Features
Despite their similar looks, there are some notable differences. Roomba 695 is equipped with a camera sensor. On the device, there is a full bin indicator, which is very handy for determining whether it is already the time to empty the bin or not. Roomba 690 does not have a full bin indicator, and this may be annoying to some people. There is no way to know for sure if the bin is full or not except by really opening the bin. Or you can simply empty the bin every after use.
Unlike Roomba 695, Roomba 690 is equipped with an acoustic sensor. This sensor is actually much more accurate than the camera sensor. The acoustic sensor enables Roomba 690 to know for sure whether there is an obstruction ahead.
Both Roomba 695 vs 690 have built-in Wi-Fi. You can install the respective mobile app on your smartphone, so that you can control your robotic vacuum cleaner when you are not at home. Scheduling the operation is also more conveniently done on the mobile app than directly on the device.
However, Roomba 695 does not mention whether it supports Alexa or Google Assistant. The lack of such support may be inconvenient if you are using Alexa or Google Assistant constantly.
Roomba 690 is compatible with both Alexa and Google Assistant. This is very convenient, as you won’t have to use your smartphone all the time. You can just use voice commands to control the robotic vacuum cleaner.
Roomba 695 uses a nickel-metal hydride battery, which is not very durable. Roomba 690 comes with a lithium-ion battery which is more durable. If you don’t want the battery of your robotic vacuum cleaner to fail too quickly, Roomba 690 makes a better choice.
