Are Bissell 1940 and Bissell 1940w actually different from each other? This question has haunted the mind of every potential buyer who is looking for an affordable yet reliable steam mop for purging the floor free from germs and bacteria. Bissell is a well-known company that has produced a number of high-quality cleaning tool products into the market. Bissell 1940 and Bissell 1940w are both steam mop models offering superb performance, available in a very affordable price range of sub-one hundred bucks. Below, you can read more about the similarities of these two models, along with the differences.
Kills 99.9% Germs and Bacteria
Both Bissell 1940 and Bissell 1940w actually have a very similar design and the same internal engine. They both claim to be able to kill 99.9% of all germs and bacteria on your flooring. Such astonishing result is achievable due to the combination of the excellent steam quality and the flip-down easy scrubber. The water tank is located on top of the steam mop, which can be refilled with water at any time during use. It is recommended to use demineralized or distilled water instead of tap water. You should never add any chemical into the water. The steam mop will then heat up the water and produce hot, high-pressure steam to eliminate any filth on the floor. The scrubber lets you easily brush down even the toughest messes, grout, or sticky dried-on spots.
Both models are suitable for most kinds of hard flooring, such as hardwood, stone, tile, marble, ceramic, and laminate. You can easily set the output power using the smart-set digital variable steam control. There are also the Spring Breeze fragrance discs for added freshness.
The Color and the Cord
Perhaps the first difference between these two models that you can immediately notice is the color. Bissell 1940’s body is colored in blue and white. On the other hand, Bissell 1940w comes with orange and white colors.
In addition, another difference between these two models is the cord length. Bissell 1940’s cord is 23 feet, whereas Bissell 1940w’s cord is 25 feet. The extra length is indeed always a beneficial thing. It allows for more mobility. Even so, the difference is not very significant.
